Notice

1. Grammar Difficulty: CEFR-J assesses grammar difficulty based solely on form, whereas the 2022 standard considers both form and meaning (Form and Use). Therefore, even if a sentence has the same grammatical form, its difficulty level under the 2022 standard may vary depending on its meaning in context.

2. Vocabulary Difficulty: CEFR EVP takes contextual meaning into account when determining word difficulty, while the 2022 standard relies only on the base form (headword) of predefined word families. For EFL learners whose native languages have different linguistic systems from English (e.g., Korean or Japanese), inferring the meaning of derived forms from the headword can be challenging. As a result, perceived vocabulary difficulty may be significantly higher.
